The Mashiko Pottery Fair (益子陶器市, Mashiko Toki-ichi) is one of Japan's largest and most beloved ceramic events. Held twice yearly in the pottery town of Mashiko, Tochigi Prefecture, it attracts over 600,000 visitors and features 500+ booths of pottery from local artisans and kilns across Japan.

Getting There
From Tokyo, take the Tohoku Shinkansen to Oyama, then transfer to the Moka Railway to Mashiko station (about 2.5 hours total). During the fair, shuttle buses run from the station to the main venue.
